WATCH: Bill Clinton Explains His DNC Speech On ‘The Daily Show’

Former President Bill Clinton stopped by “The Daily Show” on Thursday to discuss the Clinton Global Initiative, as well as Clinton’s widely praised speech at the Democratic National Convention.

“I worked so hard on that, for weeks and weeks and weeks,” Clinton told host Jon Stewart. “I was just determined to get the facts right and to simplify the argument without being simplistic. I didn’t want to talk down to people, I wanted to explain what I thought was going on.”

Stewart responded by comparing Clinton’s approach to that of Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan. “That you would utilize in your arguments facts, and that you would attach numbers to them that were real,” Stewart joked, “I thought it was a bold choice on your part.”
